INNOVATE GERMANY recognizes differences in age, experience, and academic background. Projects are therefore evaluated according to age-appropriate expectations within the Junior and Senior categories.

Junior projects are evaluated with a strong focus on learning, curiosity, and exploration.
Judges place emphasis on:

- Awareness of real-world relevance, even at a basic level
For Junior participants, process and learning are valued more than technical complexity.
Senior Category Expectations

Senior projects are evaluated with higher expectations for depth, rigor, and independence.
Judges place emphasis on:
- Clearly articulated research questions or hypotheses
